Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) Joe Yun, U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel, and a large contingent of U.S. government leaders from Washington joined their Indonesian counterparts in Surabaya for the midterm review of the joint commission meetings.
These meetings focus on the areas of the Comprehensive Partnership that was launched by President’s Yudhoyono and Obama in 2010 and covers: Education, Energy, Trade and Investment, Democracy and Civil Society, Climate Change and the Environment, and Security.
PDAS Yun remarked, “I am glad to visit Surabaya for meetings with our Indonesian partners from many agencies to further cooperation under our Comprehensive Partnership.”  In addition to the meetings, PDAS Yun, the Ambassador, and the Consul General hosted a dinner for local higher education and business leaders to underscore the U.S. commitment to building ties with Indonesia.
